Plays Extended
‘Waiting for Godot’ at the Theatre Royal Haymarket has barely started previewing, yet it has already extended its run by a month. It will now continue until the 26th of July.
It is hardly surprising that there has been such a demand for this London show as the production of Samuel Beckett’s play stars Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Simon Callow and Ronald Pickup. It is directed by Sean Mathias.
Wallace Shawn’s ‘Grasses of a Thousand Colours’ at the Royal Court has been extended before it opens on the 18th of May with previews from the 12th of May. It will now run until the 27th of June. It is Shawn’s first new play in ten years and stars the author himself along with Miranda Richardson, Jennifer Tilly and Emily McDonnell. It is directed by Andre Gregory.
Tim Firth’s ‘Calendar Girls’ has already added four weeks to its West End season. It is now booking at the Noel Coward Theatre through to the 25th of July. Amongst the cast are Gaynor Faye, Lynda Bellingham, Sian Phillips and Patricia Hodge.
At the St Martin’s Theatre, Agatha Christie’s ‘The Mousetrap’ continues to break records. It is the world’s longest running play and has now extended its booking period by another six months up until the 21st of November 2009.
