Forthcoming Attractions
Here’s a selection of shows that might interest you if you’re planning to visit the capital city to take in a London show.
First off, something unusual. The Unicorn Theatre and Mark Storor have joined forces with children from the Dialysis Unit of The Evelina Children’s Hospital School to produce a promenade performance and installation piece based on the children’s experiences in hospital and at home. The show is called ‘For the Best’ and runs at the Unicorn from the 2nd until the 28th of June 2009.
‘Can Any Mother Help Me?’ is a play inspired by Jenna Bailey’s book which tells the story of the Cooperative Correspondence Club which provided help and support for women who felt isolated. It has been described as a 1935 version of an internet chatroom. Foursight Theatre Company bring the show to the Greenwich Theatre on the 23rd and 24th of May.
‘Naked Boys Singing 2009’ is exactly what it sounds like. It is something of a worldwide phenomenon and has been running off Broadway for some time. It features 7 good looking and talented actors celebrating the naked male body through catchy cabaret numbers. Phil Willmott directs the show which will run at the King’s Head Theatre from the 26th of May until the 5th of July.
