Breakfast at Tiffanys
The Theatre Royal Haymarket’s in house seasons are fast establishing themselves as one of the most exciting forces in West End Theatre. They are some of the fastest selling shows in town so don’t wait to book your theatre tickets.
Yet another adaptation of a popular film is on its way as ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ will open on the 29th of September and is booking until the 9th of January 2010. It previews from the 9th of September.
Making her West End debut, Anna Friel will star as Holly Golightly, the part made famous in the 1961 film by Audrey Hepburn.
The show will be directed by Sean Mathias, who is Artistic Director for the entire season at the Haymarket. He is already enjoying success with his production of ‘Waiting for Godot’ which is currently running.
The show is being adapted by Samuel Adamson and he will be returning to Truman Capote’s original 1958 novella for inspiration rather than simply attempting to stage the film. However, one inclusion from the film that is definitely in is Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer’s song ‘Moon River’, which won an Oscar.
It will be Anna Friel’s first time on the London stage since ‘Lulu’ at the Almeida in 2001.
