Musicals Extend

Musicals continue to be the hardest shows to get theatre tickets for. Here is news of two shows which have just announced that they are extending their runs.

‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’ has just added five months to its booking period. It opened in the West End this year on the 23rd of March and is now booking until the 13th of February 2010. It is playing at the Palace Theatre and is adapted from the 1994 film.

The show features a feast of disco hits such as ‘Shake Your Groove Thing’, ‘I Love the Nightlife’, ‘I Will Survive’ and ‘Finally’.

Meanwhile, at the Dominion Theatre, ‘We Will Rock You’ has also extended its schedule by 5 months. It opened on the 14th of May 2002, and recently celebrated its 7th birthday, it is now booking until March 2010.

The show’s book was written by Ben Elton and features no less than 32 of Queen’s greatest hits. These include ‘Under Pressure’, ‘Radio Gaga’, ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’, ‘We Will Rock You’ and the epic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. The show is directed by Ben Elton with choreography by Arlene Phillips. The current cast includes Sabrina Aloueche, Mazz Murray, Rachel Tucker and Ricardo Afonso.
