The Camden Fringe

The Camden Fringe in London is slowly but surely becoming a viable alternative to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. This year’s festival will be the fourth and will run from the 3rd to the 30th of August. There will be 399 performances of 118 different shows across four venues.

Here are some of the highlights of this year’s festival. Don’t forget that the venues are small and early booking of your theatre tickets is essential.

The award winning sketch troupe ‘In the Meantime’ bring a new show to the Camden Head called ‘The Human Conditioner’.

There will be an opportunity to see ‘Medea 4.0’ which see the classic Greek tale repackaged for a corporate world. In fact, the tragedy’s media rights are up for sale to the highest bidders. This will play at the Roundhouse Studio Theatre.

The festival will also include performances from top stand-ups such as Shazia Mirza, Robin Ince, Simon Amstell and Scott Capurro.

The company Bruised Peach will present ‘Cleopatra’s Gone’ which is described as a black comedy set in the world of amateur dramatics. This plays at the Etcetera Theatre.

Ten in a Bed Theatre present an intriguing double bill of one act plays under the title ‘God Lost’.
