Get theatre tickets for Chicago now

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

The fabulously famous show Chicago, which revolves around two villainous heroines, has been an absolute smash hit since it was remade in 1997. The story of Velma, the star who murders her husband and her sister when she finds them in the same bed together has been transferred to the big screen also with a start studded cast including Catherine Zeta Jones.

The other heroine in the story is Roxie Hart who was arrested and jailed for murdering her boyfriend. The story really gets interesting when both the ladies are represented by the same lawyer, Billy Flynn, who through smart trickery influences their various trials. His very dynamic personality and style of litigation ensure that the girls end up as celebrities.

A further twist to the already twisted story line is that the ladies end up battling each other as they both try to steal the limelight and get their faces on the front page. They also contend for Billy’s attention which brings a wonderful element of fun and humour to the entire show.

The themes of the original storyline are the same but the location has changed from Sheffield UK to Buffalo USA.

A group of disgruntled men agree on the fact that their collective wives/girlfriends always enjoy a ‘girls only’ night out watching a bunch of male strippers. Determined to make some money and to do something positive, the group of unlikely, ordinary friends, decide they too can provide the ultimate in girls entertainment.

The journey of self discovery, self loathing, insecurity and uncertainty are the familiar themes as the men strut and strip, hopeful, but never really believing they can pull it off!

The legend of Marilyn Monroe lives on

Monday, October 26th, 2009

Marilyn Monroe was one of the greatest legends of the 20th Century and the play Marilyn: Forever Blond is a play that takes a look at the last days before her tragic death. It is incredibly difficult to sum up this extraordinarily beautiful woman’s life up in a few sentences.

She simply became a screen legend and was adored by thousands of people, both men and women. She had the innocence of a small child, yet the sensuality of a goddess. Behind the beautiful face and body, though, there was a desperately unhappy and lonely person. All adults can share a look into the life of this amazing woman at the Leicester Square Theatre in London’s West End. At Concierge Desk, we have different categories of theatre tickets available for this play that range from ‘best’ seats to cheap London theatre tickets to suit all budgets.

Thought provoking

Whether you have always admired this legendary woman or know very little about her, this play is a thought-provoking work that shows the sad side of her life, yet that’s not all there was. The audience shares the funny parts and the heart-warming parts of her life, and the often bewildered feelings of this woman that shot to stardom like a supernova.

It makes you think about the price of fame and fortune and what it does to a person. It makes you think about what being billed the greatest sex symbol of the silver screen did to this woman with the soft and sultry voice. So make an evening of it with affordable London theatre tickets from us and see an unforgettable play.
