Camille is the singing Dita von Teese; she has the same sultry glamour and powerful image that requires your full attention.
This new show is a fantastic showcase for the young Irish French singer who was born in London but raised in Ireland. Although not yet a household name, she is recognised by peers as a talented live performer and has been seen most recently in ‘Later with Jools Holland’. She was also cast as the Vaudeville star in ‘Mrs Henderson Presents’ where she played opposite Dame Judi Dench; her and Will Young sing on the soundtrack to the film.
Camille is frequently compared to von Teese due to their favoured fashion choice of 50’s glamour, their dark hair, sultry looks and red lipstick but Camille does not consider herself a Vaudeville performer. Her live show is proof enough that Camille is a singing sensation; she not only sings but draws the audience into the world she has created around the music; namely songs by Nick Cave, David Bowie, Jacques Brel and Tom Waits.
‘The Dark Angel’ is sure to be a huge West End hit after Camille’s recent successes at the Edinburgh Fringe and as a guest act in the cabaret hit ‘La Clique’.
