The Hampstead Theatre is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year. It has already produced some great work in 2009 including the critically acclaimed ‘The Fastest Clock in the Universe’. The last months of the year look set to see Hampstead enter its second fifty years in similar style.

Running from 10 to 28 November is ‘I Found My Horn’ which has been adapted by the actor Jonathan Guy Lewis along with Jasper Rees who wrote the book on which the play is based. It tells the story of a 40 year old man who feels he has done nothing with his life, and chances upon the French horn, he has not played for twenty five years, in his loft. theatre tickets for this are available through Concierge Desk.

For Christmas, the theatre has a ghost story. ‘Darker Shores’ by Michael Punter will run from 3 December until 16 January, 2010. Two members of the cast who have already been announced mean that theatre tickets for this show will probably sell out so early booking is recommended.

Mark Gatiss of The League of Gentlemen and numerous television credits such as ‘Psychoville’, ‘Midsomer Murders’ and ‘Doctor Who’ will be joined by Julian Rhind-Tutt. Julian is also best known for his television work including ‘Green Wing’, ‘The Rotter’s Club’ and ‘Oliver Twist’.
