All My Sons is a Play

Show Overview / Review

Director Howard Davies won a Laurence Olivier Award for his ‘All My Sons’ theatre production in 2000 which was staged at the National Theatre. In this latest production, he brings together two very familiar and much loved television stars; David Suchet is best known for his portrayal of Belgium Detective Poirot and Zoe Wanamaker stars in the hit Sitcom ‘My Family’.

These two great actors take on the roles of husband and wife in this tragic Arthur Miller play about family; love and loyalty and secrets. The chief character Joe Keller is 61 years old and loves his family above everything. One of his sons is believed to have been killed in action during the war, so he is keen to see his remaining son happy; Chris wants to marry Ann but Ann was once engaged to Keller’s dead son. Keller’s wife Kate, cannot cope with the arrangement as she does not believe her son to be dead. Whilst struggling to come to terms with her personal circumstances, she is also harbouring a terrible secret for Joe.

Years before, Keller had knowingly been manufacturing World War II planes with defective parts; many young pilots subsequently lost their lives but Keller’s part in the deaths remained concealed.

Miller based ‘All My Son’s’ on a true account he read about. In ‘All My Son’s', Miller explores one mans morality; a sadly misguided family man with questionable integrity.

A warm, sad and thought provoking play.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ at the Theatre Royal Haymarket has tickets available until 9th January 2010 and will no doubt be a very popular Christmas treat for many people this year.

The show is part of the theatre’s season of in house productions, directed by Sean Mathias, and is proving to be as big a hit as the previous show ‘Waiting for Godot’ which starred Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. This show also has star names in the shape of Anna Friel and Joseph Cross.

Anna Friel seems to bring titillation wherever she goes. There is some nudity in this show, including hers, and she first came to prominence with British television’s first lesbian kiss in the ground breaking soap ‘Brookside’. However, that should not blind anybody to the fact that she is a fine actress. Her film credits include ‘Land of the Lost’, ‘Landgirls’ and ‘Rogue Trader’. Her television work includes ‘Pushing Daisies’ in the United States and ‘The Street’ and ‘Our Mutual Friend’. Previous theatre work includes ‘Lulu’ for the Almeida and ‘Closer’ both of which transferred to America.

Her co-star is Joseph Cross, the American actor who has starred in Hollywood films including ‘Flags of Our Fathers’ for Clint Eastwood and ‘Milk’. To see these stellar names perform, you can book theatre tickets from Concierge Desk.

We at Concierge Desk not only bring you great deals in cheap theatre tickets but also have special offers in conjunction with some of London’s top restaurants. This means that you can save even more money by booking a combined meal and theatre tickets.

Defending the Caveman is a Play / Comedy

Show Overview / Review

‘Defending the Caveman’ has the accolade of being the longest running solo play in Broadway history. Staring Mark Little, ‘Defending the Caveman’ is a hilarious riot and should be seen by everyone in a relationship and everyone wanting to understand the opposite sex.

Unforgettably funny but often razor sharp in its accuracy, ‘Defending the Caveman’ is a piece of marvellous storytelling theatre. It will leave you laughing uproariously but also gasping with shock as the truth, quite often, hurts.

Mark Little has become a much loved character on stage and screen after finding fame many years ago as Joe Mangle in Neighbours. He is the loveable rogue; the boy next door; the Caveman with a story to tell.

Go and see this with your partner, brother, mother or friends; you’ll be laughing every step of the way and won’t fail to recognise yourself. Millions of people in over thirty countries can’t be wrong about this show. Go along and you’ll enjoy every minute!
