Six Degrees Of Separation
The Old Vic is currently enjoying great success and selling lots of London theatre tickets with ‘Inherit the Wind’ and has now announced the casting for its next production, ‘Six Degrees of Separation’. Theatre tickets are avalable for this play, written by John Guare, will be directed by David Grindley. The play is set in New York and tells the story of a con artist. The play won an Olivier award when it debuted in London at the Royal Court in 1992.
Lesley Manville stars. She gave a breathtaking performance in the title role of ‘The Mother’ at the Royal Court. Other recent stage credits include ‘Her Naked Skin’, ‘Pillars of the Community’, ‘His Dark Materials’ and ‘The Alchemist’, all at the National Theatre. Her television credits include ‘Cranford’, ‘North and South’ and ‘The Queen’. In the cinema she has been seen in a number of Mike Leigh films including ‘Vera Drake’, ‘High Hopes’, ‘Secrets and Lies’, ‘Topsy Turvey’ and ‘All or Nothing’.
Manville is joined by Anthony Head, who is best known for television work such as ‘Little Britain’, ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, ‘Manchild’ and ‘Free Agents’. His theatre credits include ‘Otherwise Engaged’, ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Pirates of Penzance’ in the West End.
Obi Abili joins these two stalwarts in the cast. Although only out of RADA three years, Obi already has some impressive credits including ‘Dido Queen of Carthage’ at the National Theatre and ‘The Brothers Size’ at the Young Vic.
