The rock musical ‘Hair’ is back in the West End and it’s going to be around for a while. Such is the expectations of this production that the Gielgud Theatre is taking bookings up to January 2011!
For the first time ever, an entire Broadway ensemble is moving and the hugely successful production that has been appreciated across the Atlantic can now be enjoyed in London.
‘Hair’ is about a group of 60′s hippies who live according to the mantra of 60′s: peace, love and freedom. Their struggle for harmony is set against the backdrop of the Vietnam war and parents be warned; there is some nudity (of course) and some strong language.
The brilliant music brings the era alive and the wonderful, expansive hair of yesteryear completes the nostalgia of this cult musical, seen originally in 1967.
Enjoy classics such as ‘Let the Sun Shine in’, ‘Hair’, ‘I Got Life’ and ‘Aquarius’. This revival of ‘Hair’ is due to the continuing interest in an era that changed the world and breathed life into music. Don’t miss out!
