Off the Endz
The Royal Court Theatre in Sloane Square is renowned around the world as the home of new theatre writing. 2010 looks set to be an exciting year as two of this year’s shows, ‘Enron’ and ‘Jerusalem’, get West End transfers. The productions this spring look set to continue to excite audiences and critics alike. Royal Court shows have been selling out throughout 2009 so it is wise to book your theatre tickets as far in advance as you can. London theatre tickets are currently selling at a faster rate than ever before.
From 11th February until 13th March, ‘Off the Endz’ by Bola Agbaje premieres. Jeremy Herrin directs and Ultz is the designer. Bola had an earlier play produced at the Royal Court in 2007, ‘Gone Too Far’. She has also had ‘Detaining Justice’ produced at the Kilburn Tricycle and ‘Anything You Can Do’ at the Soho Theatre. This play tells the story of three twenty somethings living on a London estate.
The cast includes Lorraine Burroughs, whose previous stage credits include ‘The Mountaintop’ at Theatre 503, ‘Romeo and Juliet’ at Shakespeare’s Globe and ‘The War Next Door’ at the Tricycle. Television credits include ‘All About George’ and ‘Liberty’.
Burroughs is joined by Daniel Francis. His previous theatre credits include ‘The Hounding of David Oluwale’ at the West Yorkshire Playhouse and ‘The Brothers Size’ at the Young Vic.
