Tricycle Theatre
Casting has been announced for the Tricycle theatre’s summer season, Women Power And Politics, which will run from 4th June. Amongst the ensemble players are Kika Markham, Stella Gonet and Niamh Cusack. Theatre tickets are on sale now.
Following the general election, a series of nine plays exploring themes of femininity, power and politics will be presented in both contemporary and historical settings. Each of the plays will portray female characters in political roles, battling the criticisms and discriminations against their gender.
Kika Markham, widower of Corin Redgrave, has been previously seen on stage in Song At Twilight (Gielgud Theatre), for which she received an Olivier award nomination. Other credits include Homebody/Kabul (Young Vic) and The Permanent Way (National Theatre).
Stella Gonet is best known for her roles in television programmes Holby City and The House of Eliot. Theatre credits include the recent productions of Racing Demon, Skylight, Hamlet and The Voysey Inheritance (National Theatre), and RSC productions of Measure For Measure, Three Sisters and The Revenger’s Tragedy.
Niamh Cusack, who has recently appeared at the Hampstead Theatre in Andersen’s English, has a long line of stage credits which include Mammals (Bush Theatre), Dancing At Lughnasa (The Old Vic) and His Dark Materials (National Theatre).
Also in the cast are Felix Scott, Lara Rossi, Tom Mannion, Amy Loughton, John Hollingworth, Heather Cranley, Oliver Chris, Simon Chandler, Claire Cox.
Writers include Rebecca Lenkewicz, Lucy Kirkwood, Marie Jones, Sam Holcroft, Zinnie Harris, Moira Buffini, Bola Agbaje, Joy Wilkinson and Sue Townsend.
