Gate Theatre

The Gate Theatre in West London has announced a summer season of provocative, interactive plays which will include four innovative pieces and three world premieres. Theatre tickets for the season are on sale now.

Rupert Goold’s Headlong theatre has collaborated with the Gate to bring us two premieres; Joseph K and How To Be An Other Woman. They will also be joining forces for a production of Lulu, by Frank Wedekind. The Knowledge Emporium, Domini Public, Susurrus and Etiquette are four other pieces being produced in the surrounding Notting Hill area.

Lulu, beginning 10th June, will be adapted and directed by Anna Ledwich, and tells the story of a young woman who spends her life moving from one husband to another. Sinead Matthews will star in the piece, whose previous credits include Our Class at the National Theatre and Eigengrau at the Bush theatre.

Following Lulu is How To Be Another Woman, adapted and directed by co-Artistic Director at the Gate Natalie Abrahami. The piece is touted as “a vivid evocation of womanhood and consumerism”, and will include choreography by Aline David with design by Samal Blak.

Joseph K is a new piece by Tom Basten based on The Trial by Franz Kafka. Gate Associate Director Lyndsey Turner directs this tale of a man arrested on his 30th birthday, with no understanding why.

The remaining four plays will be shown as part of the Gate Outdoors season.
