WWRY – SAMUELS ROCKS!

Lauren Samuels leapt into the public eye as one of the leading contestants on BBC’s Over The Rainbow. She is to join the cast of We Will Rock You, the Queen musical from 10th October.

After the competition, Lauren went on to play Sandy in the West End production of Grease. Other new faces to join the cast of We Will Rock You are Alasdair Harvey (Phantom of the Opera) and Wayne Robinson who was playing in the touring production of We Will Rock You. They will join the favourites of the show Brenda Edwards, Rachel John and Kevin Kennedy in the seventh longest running musical in the West End. It has just been confirmed that the run has been extended until October 2012!

PHANTOM COMES TO THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL

Tickets are selling fast for the 25th Anniversary showings of Phantom of the Opera on October 1st and 2nd October. The show will feature over 200 cast and orchestra. Andrew Lloyd Webbers’s production has been played at Her Majesty’s theatre since opening on 9th October 1986. The show is based on the gothic novel by Gaston Leroux. It is a dramatic musical that tells a story of the goings on beneath the Paris Opera House.

Hadley Fraser, currently starring in Les Miserables at the Queen’s theatre, will play leading lady Christine’s love interest Raoul. Christine will be played by Sierra Boggess and will be joined on stage by Daisy Maywood, Sergei Polunin and Kiera Duffy.

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary, the show is coming to the Royal Albert Hall. Performances are at 1st October 7.30pm and 2nd October 1.30pm and 7pm. Only 300 seats remain on sale!

THRILLER LIVE is a spectacular show celebrating the career of Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5. In his 40 year career, Michael Jackson sold over 750 million records all over the globe and his album Thriller is still the worlds best selling album of all time.

Bringing the stage to life is the sensational dancers and distinctive sound of the Jacksons, Thriller Live has fantastic multi media effects and choreography by the shows award winning director Gary Lloyd. He has previously worked with Will Young, Girls Aloud and Leona Lewis! Additional choreography by LaVelle Smith Jnr, the 5 time winner of the MTV awards. The Daily Telegraph reports ”Dance routines, featuring daring leaps from an on-stage bridge, break-dancing, and, yes, the moonwalk, are spectacular.”

THE 39 STEPS CELEBRATES!

The 39 Steps celebrated its 5th year at the Criterion Theatre this week. The cast of only four and a select guest list raised a glass to the West Ends longest running comedy.

Although the story deals with serious issues, it is a little tongue in cheek and contains an element of humour. This action packed production stars 4 actors with more than 139 roles to play. The 1935 Hitchcock play stars Richard Hannay, a British hero who has uncovered a plot by the Germans. The Germans intend to assassinate the Greek Prime Minster and steal the military plans to destroy Britain if war brakes out. With his pencil moustache and stiff upper lip, the hero Hannay encounters double crossing agents, beautiful women and murders. This comedy thriller is a fun fast -paced thrilling play not to be missed. It is guaranteed to leave you on the edge of your seat!
