John Godber first came to the public’s attention when his play ‘Up ‘n’ Under’, about a failing pub rugby league team, became a hit in the West End. The show later became a hit film. Since that time he has consistently produced new plays aimed at attracting new audiences to the theatre. The company he originally formed, Hull Truck, recently opened prestigious new headquarters.

One of his other best loved pieces is ‘Bouncers’, in which four male actors play the parts of the nightclub bouncers and all of the customers they meet in a typical evening – including the ladies. A revival of this show is coming to the Leicester Square Theatre, where it will run from 25th January to 6th March. theatre tickets are available.

It stars and is directed by Antony Law. The senior actor in the cast in all senses, however, is David Bauckham. David has played two different characters on ‘Eastenders’ and has also appeared on our television screens in ‘Lewis’, ‘Silent Witness’ and ‘If the Oil Runs Out’. Previous stage credits include ‘Elgar’ at the Worcester Swan and ‘Terra Nova’ at the Northampton Royal Theatre. Simon Higgins and Luke Stevenson complete the cast.
