Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ at the Theatre Royal Haymarket has tickets available until 9th January 2010 and will no doubt be a very popular Christmas treat for many people this year.

The show is part of the theatre’s season of in house productions, directed by Sean Mathias, and is proving to be as big a hit as the previous show ‘Waiting for Godot’ which starred Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. This show also has star names in the shape of Anna Friel and Joseph Cross.

Anna Friel seems to bring titillation wherever she goes. There is some nudity in this show, including hers, and she first came to prominence with British television’s first lesbian kiss in the ground breaking soap ‘Brookside’. However, that should not blind anybody to the fact that she is a fine actress. Her film credits include ‘Land of the Lost’, ‘Landgirls’ and ‘Rogue Trader’. Her television work includes ‘Pushing Daisies’ in the United States and ‘The Street’ and ‘Our Mutual Friend’. Previous theatre work includes ‘Lulu’ for the Almeida and ‘Closer’ both of which transferred to America.

Her co-star is Joseph Cross, the American actor who has starred in Hollywood films including ‘Flags of Our Fathers’ for Clint Eastwood and ‘Milk’. To see these stellar names perform, you can book theatre tickets from Concierge Desk.

We at Concierge Desk not only bring you great deals in cheap theatre tickets but also have special offers in conjunction with some of London’s top restaurants. This means that you can save even more money by booking a combined meal and theatre tickets.

Everyone should have Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

Surely Truman Capote had no idea when he wrote Breakfast at Tiffany’s in 1958 of what a phenomenal success it would become. He could not have known that his book would be turned into movies. Nor could he have known that half a century later a new stage production of Breakfast at Tiffany’s would grace the stage of the Haymarket Theatre Royal in London.

This well loved story plays off during World War II, 1943, New York City. It tells the story of popular Miss Holly Golightly. She is a woman that every man runs after and it tells of Fred Parsons, a church-mouse poor writer from Louisiana.

The audience follows the life of Holly and the guessing game of which of her rich suitors she will marry. Of course, Fred and Holly fall in love. Everything turns topsy-turvy, especially when her murky past catches up with her.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s in London

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

A new stage version of Truman Capote’s ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ will run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from the 29th of September until the 9th of January 2010 with previews starting on the 9th of September 2009.
You can book your theatre tickets for this show and many others through our website at Concierge Desk.
The show is set in New York in the 1940s and tells the story of Fred, a young writer who moves into a Manhattan apartment and quickly falls for his neighbour, Holly Golightley. He is penniless and she has rich suitors queuing around the block so it seems he will have little opportunity to win her heart.
Fred will be played by Joseph Cross and Holly by Anna Friel. They are joined in a starry cast by John Ramm, Suzanne Bertish, James Dreyfus and Dermot Crowley.
The show is directed by Sean Mathias and adapted by Samuel Adamson. It is the second production in the theatre’s second season of in-house productions and follows the huge success of ‘Waiting For Godot’ starring Ian McKellen, Simon Callow and Patrick Stewart, which received great reviews.
Also in this brilliant cast of ‘Tiffany’s’ is Gwendoline Christie, James Bradshaw, Felix D’Alviella, Paul Courtney Hyu, Annie Hemingway, Nicholas Goh, Natalie Klamar, Sam Hoare, and David Phelan.
Samuel Adamson has returned to Capote’s novella ‘Moon River’ for his version, rather than the 1961 film although the song named after the novella which featured in the film will appear in the play.
