Chronicles of Long Kesh

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

The Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn has already announced its opening production of 2010; by an Irish playwright and set in Ireland. Their interest in all things Irish continues with their following production ‘Chronicles of Long Kesh’, which runs from 15th March to 10th April. It is by Northern Irish playwright Martin Lynch, who also co-directs with Lisa May. Whilst the title might not promise lots of fun, in fact it is full of dark humour and some great music courtesy of a Motown influenced soundtrack. The show has already been a success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and promises to be very popular, so early purchase of your theatre tickets is recommended.

The show stars Billy Clarke. His television credits includs ‘The Monocled Mutineer’ and ‘I Fought the Law’. He has also starred in the films ‘The Most Fertile Man in Ireland’ and ‘Mo’.

Also in the cast is Billy Moore. He has had many run-ins with television, and some of his credits are for well-known soaps such as ‘Emmerdale’ and ‘Coronation Street’.

Chris Corrigan is also part of the excellent ensemble cast. His previous theatre credits include ‘Scenes From the Big Picture’ at the National Theatre in London and ‘Don Juan in Soho’ at the Donmar Warehouse. Television credits include ‘William and Mary’ and ‘Omagh’.

Also, later in 2010, Filter’s production of ‘Twelfth Night’ will return to the Tricycle.
