Dreamboats And Petticoats
Tuesday, May 25th, 2010Dreamboats and Petticoats has announced a six month extension on its run at the Playhouse Theatre in London’s West End. Theatre tickets are currently on sale for the hit jukebox musical.
The year is 1961, and young rock n roll hopefuls Norman and Bobby enter a song writing competition in the hope of kick starting their musical career, and catching the eye of sassy Sue, by whom Bobby is utterly bewitched. However, when Bobby and Laura begin to write music together, his feelings start to change as they embark on a journey of love, fame and rock n roll.
Dreamboats and Petticoats is written by Maurice Gran and Laurence Marks (Birds of a Feather, Goodnight Sweetheart, Shine on Harvey Moon, The New Statesman), and was inspired by the million plus selling album of the same name released in November 2008. The score of classic tracks from the rock n roll era promises to give the audience “the greatest time of your life”, taking you back to an age full of twists, jives, cars and guitars.
The show feature hits from artists such as Billy Fury, Eddie Cochran, Roy Orbison Chuck Berry and The Shadows to name but a few. Songs include Let’s Twist Again, C’mon Everybody, Runaround Sue, Let’s Dance, Happy Birthday Sweet 16 and many more.
Dreamboats and Petticoats its run at the Savoy Theatre in London last October before transferring to the Playhouse Theatre in London in January this year.
