Saturday, June 12th, 2010Grease has extended its run at the Piccadilly Theatre by another year, and theatre tickets are available to book through to September 2011.
Currently starring in the show as Danny Zuko is ex- Hear’say singer Noel Sullivan, alongside Siobhan Dillon in the principle role of Sandy. Both Sullivan and Dillon will remain in the roles until July this year. Robin Cousins, the former ice skating Olympic champion and current Dancing On Ice judge also stars in the show playing Teen Angel until June.
Grease opened in August 2007 at the Piccadilly Theatre in London, and is now the longest running show at the venue. On the 20 June 2009 it reached a massive 800 performances.
Grease is written by Warren Casey and Jim Jacobs, and features songs from J Farrar, B Gibb, S Simon and L St Louis. David Gilmore directs, with choreography from ex Strictly Come Dancing panel judge Arlene Phillips.
Grease tells the teenage love story of Danny and Sandy, who fall in love when they meet over the summer break. When Sandy turns up at Danny’s school, much to both of their surprise, his cool status is compromised, and he and Sandy must find a way to be together without affecting his T-Bird status. The score features songs such as ‘You’re The One That I Want’, ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’ and ‘Grease is The Word’.
