‘Grease’ recently celebrated two years at the Piccadilly Theatre and its producers have now announced that the show’s booking period has been extended for a further eight months. This means theatre tickets are available all the way until September 2010.
The show currently stars the winner of TV show ‘Dancing on Ice’, Ray Quinn as Danny Zuko. The further good news is that his contract has been extended for eight weeks. He returned to the show on the 11th of May this year and he is now due to stay in it until the 28th of November. Emma Stephens continues opposite him in the role of Sandy. The lead roles were of course immortalised in the film version by John Travolta and Olivia Newton John.
The show is full of great rock and roll songs such as ‘Greased Lightning’, ‘You’re the One That I Want’, ‘Summer Nights’ and ballads such as ‘Sandy’ and ‘Hopelessly Devoted to You’.
The show which continues to sell theatre tickets by the bucket loads is directed by David Gilmore and the choreography is by Arlene Phillips. The music and lyrics are by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.
