The Novello Theatre in London has announced theatre tickets for Grumpy Old Women 2 – Chin Up Britain, starring Jenny Eclair, and following her Grumpy Old Women Live tour of last year.

Eclair has co-written the show with producer of the television series Grumpy Old Woman, Judith Holder.

Billed as “pre, peri and post menopausal female condition”, the extremely popular TV show attracted 4.8 million viewers an episode, with Christmas specials drawing in up to five million. The first live stage debut took place in 2005.

This latest show, which had its debut on tour last year, promises a “belly full of new grumps and handy hints on getting through these hard times the grumpy way”.

The show even features the ‘grumpometer’, which will measure levels of grumpiness. Jenny Eclair has appeared in the live shows from the beginning, and is joined this time round by fellow cast members Susie Blake and Wendi Peters.

Owen Lewis directs at the theatre in London, with design by Susannah Henry, sound by Nick Manning and lighting by Matt Vietch.

At The Novello Theatre currently is A Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, where an all black cast leads Debbie Allen’s production of Tennessee Williams well known play. James Earl Jones stars, alongside Adrian Lester, Phylicia Rashad and Sanaa Lathan. Theatre tickets for the show are on sale now.
