James Graham seems to be one of our busiest young writers at present. His latest original play ‘The Whisky Taster’ is enjoying an extended run at The Bush Theatre in London where a number of the performances have already sold out and the others are quickly following suit, so don’t hang around if you’re planning to get theatre tickets for that particular show. Graham’s previous plays include ‘A History of Falling Things’ and ‘Eden’s Empire’.

He is now adapting Mark Twain’s ‘Huckleberry Finn’ for Shapeshifter, one of the most exciting new theatre companies around. Their take on this American classic is called ‘Huck’ and will run at the Southwark Playhouse from April 27th to May 15th. Theatre tickets for all performances are currently available.

The show will be directed by John Terry who is artistic director of Shapeshifter. They won the Peter Wolff Theatre Trust Award for their production of ‘King Arthur’ at the Arcola. Other productions by Shapeshifter include ‘Lark Rise to Candleford’. Other plays directed by John include ‘Soldiers’ at the Finborough, ‘The Item Project’ at the BAC and ‘Goblin Market’ at the Southwark Playhouse.

‘Huck’ is described as “a messy, raucous and uncouth epic for young, old and everyone in between.”
