Jersey Boys
Tuesday, April 27th, 2010Jersey Boys continues its success at The Prince of Wales Theatre in the West End, with theatre tickets continuing to sell as it moves into its second year.
Imported from Broadway, this musical shows the true tale of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, as they fight their way from the wrong side of the New Jersey tracks to become an International pop sensation. The Four Seasons wrote all their own music and sold 175 million records all over the world before they were thirty years old.
Premiering in the UK on 18th March 2008 with theatre tickets selling at more than impressive rates, Jersey Boys has delighted audiences with familiar hits such as “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You”, “Oh What a Night”, “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Working My Way Back To You”, to name but a few. It won four Tony awards on Broadway for best musical, and the UK show received four Whatsonstage.com awards in 2009. Not only is that, but last years Olivier Awards named Jersey Boys Best New Musical.
Jersey Boys is also celebrating the addition of two new cast members. Eugene McCoy (Guys and Dolls, Mamma Mia!) will replace Philip Bulcock as Nick Massi, whilst Tommy Devito will be played by Jon Boydon (Grease, We Will Rock You), who takes over from Glenn Carter. Stephen Ashfield and Ryan Molloy continue their award-winning performances as Bob Gaudio and Frankie Valli.
