Legally Blonde

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

We all know how popular stage adaptations of films have become. Whilst shows such as ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ don’t delight everyone, you can’t argue with the success of shows like ‘Dirty Dancing’, ‘Sister Act’, ‘Hairspray’ and ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’.

A show that is promising to eclipse even these is ‘Legally Blonde’. Whilst there are plenty of theatre tickets available for the show, which is currently booking until May 2010, you can expect that to change as word of the show’s success spreads.

It stars Sheridan Smith, who is well known from her television appearances in ‘Jonathan Creek’, ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ and ‘Benidorm’. She is also an experienced stage actress having played Audrey in the West End production of ‘Little Shop of Horrors’. Other stage credits include ‘Into the Woods’ at the Donmar Warehouse and ‘The Taming of the Shrew’ and ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ at the Open Air Theatre in Regent’s Park.

Also in the cast is Peter Davison. He was Doctor Who for three years, and other television credits include ‘A Very Peculiar Practice’, ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ and ‘At Home With the Braithwaites’. Previous stage credits include ‘An Absolute Turkey’ and ‘The Last Yankee’ in the West End.

Legally lovable

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

So many theatre stage productions begin as novels and the same goes for big screen productions too. However, the on-stage version of Legally Blonde stems from the popular movie of the same name. Legally Blonde is a ‘chick flick’ through and through, a feel good movie for the women of this world.

It is a story that showcases the power of a woman on a mission, the value of perseverance and the strength of friendship. It really is a charming, pick-me up theatre show. Go see it alone, on a girls’ night out or with your BFF – best friend forever.

The story and the value

Buying Legally Blonde theatre tickets from us offer you the best value for money. They do this because we offer you the best prices in town and great discounts and deals. Look out for any and all special deals on any of our available shows.

The story behind Legally Blonde revolves around Elle Woods, a typical Barbie imitation. Blonde, spoiled and oh-so girlie, she fall prey to a reality check when her boyfriend leaves her in favour of a more serious girl.

However, Elle is not about to leave things there and takes to the books and Harvard Law School to boot. Come and enjoy the show as Elle kicks snooty academic butt in a musical that offers you more fun and laughter than should be legal. This is a show that simply should not be missed by any woman of any age. It is time to indulge in a really girlie theatre production for a change. Come to our site and see our cheap theatre tickets.

Legally Blonde hits London theatre

Sunday, August 2nd, 2009

‘Legally Blonde’ was a successful romantic comedy film starring Reese Witherspoon which has now been turned into a musical London theatre show. It follows the trend to turn films into musicals. Perhaps it isn’t surprising with both ‘Sister Act’ and ‘Dirty Dancing’ continuing to do great business in the West End of London.

This new London theatre show will star Sheridan Smith and Duncan James. They will be joined by Susan McFadden and Aoife Mulholland, both of whom started their careers on television talent shows.

The show starts previews on the 5th of December 2009. It was due to open on the 12th of January but the producers have now announced what they have described as a “Broadway style” opening schedule. There will be five press preview performances from the 7th to the 12th of January 2010 and a gala opening on the 13th of January. They have also insisted that all reviews are embargoed until the 14th of January.

The show is also going to be following the example of ‘The Lion King’ and the National Theatre by having Sunday matinees. These will be at 3.00pm and will take the place of Tuesday evening performances.

The show premiered on Broadway in April 2007. It is directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell with music and lyrics by Nell Benjamin and Laurence O’ Keefe.

The show promises to be a great night out and these London theatre tickets will be popular. At Concierge Desk, we can sort out not only cheap London theatre tickets but also offer great deals on dinner too.
