Twelfth Night

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

The Royal Shakespeare Company is celebrating Christmas in London with one of Shakespeare’s most celebrated comedies, ‘Twelfth Night’. This star studded production plays at the Duke of York’s Theatre until 27th February 2010. Theatre tickets are on sale now but are selling fast, so it isn’t wise to hang around!

Gregory Doran directs Richard Wilson as Malvolio, the steward with ideas above his station. Wilson is, of course, famous for playing Victor Meldrew in the long running comedy series ‘One Foot in the Grave’, and is currently a regular in the BBC’s production of ‘Merlin’. His films have included ‘How to Get Ahead in Advertising’, ‘A Dry White Season’ and ‘Watch That Man’. Previous theatre includes ‘The Play What I Wrote’ and ‘Whipping It Up’ in the West End, ‘What the Butler Saw’ at the National Theatre and ‘An Honourable Trade’ and ‘Operation Bad Apple’ at the Royal Court Theatre.

Alexandra Gilbreath plays the object of his affections and his employer, Olivia. Gilbreath’s television credits include ‘Happiness’ and ‘Life Begins’. She has worked with Greg Doran and the Royal Shakespeare Company a number of times, including ‘The Taming of the Shrew’, ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘As You Like It’.
