Victoria Palace welcomes new performer to Billy Elliot
Friday, October 15th, 2010People with London Theatre tickets to see Billy Elliot in November will be able to see the 24th Billy join the cast. His debut is o the 29th November. Scott McKenzie, 13, auditioned for the role of Billy Elliott back in February 2009 and was told shortly after that he had won the role. He has been at the Billy Elliott Academy since then. He will share the role with Dean Charles-Chapman, Rhys Yeomans and Aaron Watson. A number of boys are chosen for the role by the producers to prevent them from missing out on school work or becoming too tired.
Although Scott is still only 13, he has a long history in theatre. He began at UK Theatre School at the tender age of 5! He is the second Scottish Billy ever to play the part. He will be joined with Reece Barrett who will be sharing the part of Billy’s best friend Michael.
Billy Elliot is currently booking until April 2011 at the Victoria Palace Theatre.
