Avenue Q at the Noel Coward Theatre
Take Sesame Street with adult humour and you get Avenue Q. Jason Moore’s staging of this production is clever and imaginative and you will be thoroughly entertained by the unique alliance between humans and puppets.
Princeton is a fresh from college graduate on a journey of self discovery. With no money and a collection of weird and wonderful friends his journey begins on Avenue Q.
Although it is a fairly ordinary storyline, there are plenty of laughs and some great songs. You will especially be impressed by the human cast who have to contend with so much on stage, not least of all controlling their puppet alter ego. To quote the Independent’s review, “it’s not every show that manages to be tongue in cheek and hand on heart, while having its arm up a puppet’s bum…” Wonderful.
