'Iinspired' by the Academy
Award winning TV series and movie, the musical version of Fame was developed and conceived
by David de Silva, with lyrics by Jacques Levy and music by
Steven Margoshes; it is directed by Runar Borge.
Fame - The Musical is set in the famous High School
of the Performing Arts in New York, and tells the story of
a group of young performers, their hopes and dreams of aspiring stars and their ongoing quest
for fame and success.
This musical was originally put on at the Cambridge Theatre
in the West End, where it ran for 14 months from June 1995 until September 1996. During thee 1995 - 1996 production run the show was nominated
for both the 'Best Musical' Olivier Award and the 'Best Choreographer' Olivier Award in 1996.
