Show Type : Musical

Show Overview

Mamma Mia, the hit London musical is a story about relationships and begins with Donna who owns and runs a taverna on an idyllic Greek island. She has a daughter, Sophie, who is in the process of organising her wedding. The story is injected with some of Abba's greatest hits and this sometimes takes the story on a surreal, sometimes hilarious journey.

Sophie has a dream that her real father will walk her down the aisle. She is thwarted however because she doesn't actually know who her real father is. However there are three possibilities, men from her mother's past and so she decides to invite them all.

In addition to Harry, Bill and Sam turning up, there are two old friends of Donna's, Tanya and Rosie. These two characters bring a great deal of fun to the proceedings.

Each of the men believe they are Sophie's father and approach Donna but she is unable to reveal the truth. It turns out however that she and Sam still have strong feelings for each other and when Sophie and her fiancée amicably decide they are not ready for marriage, Sam and Donna get married instead. Happily Rosie and Bill get together and Harry reveals he is a homosexual. All loose ends are tied up with each man happily feeling “one third a father”.
